I’ve been stuck in a rut, only applying to local and semi-local jobs, as well as remote work opportunities. But with no offers on the table, I’m starting to wonder: when is the right time to start looking at jobs that would require me to relocate further than just a few towns over?
It’s a scary thought, leaving behind the familiar and starting anew in a different city or even state. But sometimes, it’s the only way to take your career to the next level or find better opportunities.
For me, it’s about weighing the pros and cons. Is the new job opportunity worth uprooting my life and leaving behind my support system? Or are there other benefits, like a better quality of life or more affordable living costs, that would make the move worthwhile?
I’d love to hear from others who have been in similar situations. How long did you wait before expanding your job search to include relocation opportunities? Was it a difficult decision, or did you feel like it was the right choice for your career?
Sharing your experiences and insights would be super helpful as I navigate this decision.
