When AI Art Generators Get Too Cautious

I was reading a post on Reddit the other day, and it got me thinking about the fine line between caution and over-restriction. The post was from someone who cancelled their Midjourney subscription because they felt the moderation was too strict. The reason? Apparently, anything involving a woman was being flagged as porn.

It’s understandable that AI art generators want to avoid explicit content, but this kind of over-caution can be frustrating for users. It’s a delicate balance between ensuring a safe environment and not stifling creativity.

I can imagine how annoying it must be to have your artwork rejected or flagged unnecessarily. It’s like trying to have a conversation with a overly sensitive AI assistant that keeps misunderstanding you.

This made me wonder, are we sacrificing too much creativity for the sake of caution? Shouldn’t AI art generators be able to distinguish between appropriate and inappropriate content more accurately?

What do you think? Have you ever had a similar experience with an AI art generator or any other platform?
