Have you ever wondered what makes a film truly special? A perfect Rotten Tomatoes score is a rare feat, and I set out to explore what these films have in common. Using Wikipedia pages for all the films rated 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, I scraped the text and converted it into multidimensional vector embeddings. Then, I generated an interactive tSNE scatterplot to visualize the connections between these cinematic gems.
The results are fascinating. Pages that are more similar to each other cluster together, revealing patterns and themes that might have gone unnoticed otherwise. I even used keywords to assign genre labels, giving us a glimpse into the diversity of these critically acclaimed films.
