I have to admit, I was hyped about GPT-5. I mean, who wouldn’t be? The rumors, the anticipation, the promise of a revolution in AI. But after the big reveal, I felt…underwhelmed. I was expecting something game-changing, some AGI kind of stuff. But what we got was a 2-hour presentation that basically showed us what GPT-4 could already do. Don’t get me wrong, the balloon game showcase was impressive, but that was about it.
I think what really got me was the lack of raw facts. Instead of concrete numbers and data, we got promises and stories about how GPT-5 could talk. I mean, I’ve seen GPT-3.5 give medical and life advice, so I was expecting more. But what we got was just…fluff.
I’m not saying GPT-5 isn’t an achievement. It’s just that, after all the hype, I was expecting more. Maybe I’m just too critical, but I think we deserved better. What do you think? Did GPT-5 live up to your expectations?
