The Paradox of AGI: Why the Powerful Are Worried About Political Bias

I’m no expert on Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), but a question has been bugging me lately. If AGI is going to be an all-knowing super intelligence, why are people like Mark Zuckerberg worried that it will be politically biased to the left?

It seems counterintuitive, doesn’t it? A handful of powerful individuals already control a significant portion of the world’s resources and set the agenda for our planet. Yet, they’re worried that the most powerful intelligence ever known to humanity won’t align with their worldview.

The Fear of Unfavourable Conclusions

These powerful individuals are so concerned that they’re already taking steps to ensure AGI doesn’t come to conclusions they personally dislike. But why? If AGI is truly all-knowing, shouldn’t it be able to see through biases and make objective decisions?

Perhaps the fear is not that AGI will be biased, but that it will uncover uncomfortable truths about the world we live in. Maybe the worry is that AGI will expose the flaws in our systems, the injustices, and the inequalities that have been perpetuated by those in power.

The Dangers of Human Bias in AGI

The real danger is not that AGI will be biased, but that humans will impart their own biases onto it. If we’re not careful, we’ll create an AGI that reflects our own prejudices, and that’s a recipe for disaster.

As we move forward in the development of AGI, it’s essential that we acknowledge our own biases and work to create a system that is truly objective. Otherwise, we risk creating a super intelligence that perpetuates the same problems we’re trying to solve.

Final Thought

The paradox of AGI is that it has the potential to be both a solution and a problem. It’s up to us to ensure that it’s used for the greater good, rather than to perpetuate the interests of the powerful few.
