When it comes to GPT-5, I have to admit that I’m not exactly thrilled about the marginal improvements we might see. Don’t get me wrong, 4.1, 4.5, and o3 are all excellent models that have served me well in my particular use cases. But let’s be real, what I’m really hoping for is a significant increase in context window. That’s the only thing on my wishlist.
I think it’s safe to say that most of us are tired of dealing with limited context windows. It’s frustrating when you’re trying to generate text or have a conversation, only to have the model forget what you were talking about a few sentences ago. So, if GPT-5 can deliver on this front, I’ll be a happy camper.
Of course, there are likely many other exciting features and improvements coming our way with GPT-5. But for me, the increased context window is the key to unlocking its full potential.
