Hey there, fellow remote workers! As a data scientist, I’ve been enjoying the flexibility of working from home since the pandemic. But, I’ve noticed a dark side to this setup – my social anxiety has been getting worse. I love building models, finding insights, and getting lost in data, but when it comes to presenting my findings, I get really anxious.
I think being remote makes it harder. With less day-to-day interaction and fewer casual chats, the pressure to communicate effectively feels higher. Imposter syndrome also sneaks in, making me feel like I’m barely keeping up with the rapidly evolving tech landscape.
I’m not alone, right? Do you feel the same way? Have you found ways to make communications feel less overwhelming? I’d love to hear from others who are in the same boat.
For me, it’s not about the work itself, but about the anxiety that comes with presenting it. I’m hoping to find some comfort in knowing I’m not the only one struggling with this.
So, if you’re a remote data scientist who’s struggling with social anxiety, let’s connect and support each other. And if you have any tips on how to make communications less daunting, I’m all ears!
