Imagine being able to create your own interactive, dynamic, and evolving stories with the help of AI. That’s exactly what I set out to do when I developed Dream Novel, an AI visual novel maker. But here’s the twist – it wasn’t designed for visual novel fans.
I used to work on a project that aimed to clone Character AI, where I was mentored by someone from Google Brain Lab. However, I wanted to take it further and create something more interactive and playful. After the project fell apart, I started building Dream Novel from scratch.
The idea struck me during a conversation with my brother, a huge fan of visual novels who also has experience with AI image and text generation. We wondered, what if we used AI tech to create dynamic stories where the player’s choices matter? I started building the engine that night, and before I knew it, I was working on it full-time.
Now, Dream Novel is a real thing, and it’s coming together in a way that feels exciting and personal. But when I shared it with the visual novel community, I got a lot of negative feedback because of the use of AI. It made me wonder – are people not ready to accept this kind of technology, or am I moving in the wrong direction?
If you’re curious about the future of storytelling and want to be part of shaping it, I invite you to join the beta test at dream-novel.com. Let’s explore the possibilities of AI-powered visual novels together.
