I was surprised to see the backlash against Duolingo’s decision to go ‘AI-first’ didn’t really have an impact. Despite the criticism, the language learning app is still going strong. But what does this say about our attitudes towards AI in education?
I think it’s a sign that we’re becoming more comfortable with the idea of AI taking a more prominent role in our learning experiences. Duolingo’s AI-driven approach has always been innovative, and it seems that users are more interested in the benefits it brings than the potential drawbacks.
It’s also worth noting that Duolingo’s AI-first approach has led to some impressive results. The app’s AI-powered chatbots and interactive exercises have made language learning more engaging and effective. Maybe it’s time we started embracing AI as a tool that can enhance our education, rather than fearing its influence.
