Statistical Analysis for Cnidarian Venom Research: A Guide

Statistical Analysis for Cnidarian Venom Research: A Guide

Hey there, fellow researchers! I’m writing a literature review on cnidarian venom and morphology, and I need some statistical analysis advice. I have three hypotheses, and I think I know what analysis I need, but I want to double-check with the experts.

My hypotheses are:

H1: LD50 (independent continuous) vs bioluminescence (dependent categorical). I think I need to use regression for this one.

H2: LD50 (continuous dependent) vs colouration (independent categorical). For this one, I’m thinking chi-squared is the way to go.

H3: LD50 (continuous dependent) vs translucency (independent categorical). Again, I think chi-squared is the correct choice.

As someone who’s still getting the hang of statistics, I want to make sure I’m on the right track. Can anyone confirm or correct my deductions? Thanks in advance for your help!

If you’re working on a similar project or have experience with statistical analysis in biology, I’d love to hear about your approach and any tips you might have.
