I’ve been considering pursuing a PhD in Deep Learning and Machine Learning, but lately, I’ve been having second thoughts. With all the progress and hype surrounding big tech companies, I’m wondering if it’s still worth it.
It seems like every other day, there’s a new breakthrough or innovation coming from these companies. They’re hiring top talent, investing heavily in research, and making significant advancements in the field. It’s hard not to feel like I’m already behind the curve.

A PhD program allows you to dive deep into a specific area, explore new ideas, and contribute meaningfully to the field. It’s not just about keeping up with the latest trends or developments; it’s about pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.
So, is a PhD in DL/ML still worth it? Absolutely. It’s not about competing with big tech companies; it’s about making a meaningful contribution to the field and advancing our understanding of these complex technologies.
