To address this, the moderators have introduced a new space called DataAnalysisCareers, dedicated to all things career-focused in data analysis.
Previously, career-entry posts were limited to a megathread, which had a positive impact on the discussion quality but left some community members feeling unheard. With about 50% of submitted posts being career-related, the moderators had to manually sort through them to prevent the community from being overwhelmed.
The new approach is to create a separate space for career-related questions, including ‘how do I become a data analyst?’ or ‘what certifications should I take?’ This will allow for more in-depth discussions and connections between community members with similar goals.
The rules in the main DataAnalysis subreddit will be updated to direct career-centric posts to the new space, ensuring that both communities can thrive without overlap.
