I’ve been exploring the latest release of GPT-5, and I have to say, I’m not a huge fan of the changes. One of the most noticeable differences is that it’s now giving me shorter answers, even when I prompt it for more detailed responses. It’s like it’s trying to keep things concise, but in doing so, it’s losing some of the depth and nuance that I’ve come to expect from AI language models.
I’ve tried prompting it on various topics, but it seems to be sticking to brief, surface-level answers. It’s not digging deep into the weeds or providing the level of detail that I need. I’m not alone in this observation, either. Others have noticed the same thing, and it’s got me wondering if this is a deliberate design choice or just a bug.
