Crafting a Strong Profile for a Data Science Master’s Program

As I sit down to plan my application for a Master’s in Data Science program in the U.S. for Fall 2026, I’m reflecting on my profile, program fit, and chances for scholarships. I’d love to share my thoughts and hear yours.

## My Profile
I hold a B.S. in Mathematics with a concentration in Data Science from a Private Christian university in Tulsa, where I graduated with a GPA of 3.5 in Spring 2023. During my junior and senior years, I participated in two data science research groups, with one project published on the Human Kinetics Journals site.

As an international student from Japan, I’ve gained valuable experience working as a Strategic Analyst at a lead gen marketplace startup. My daily tasks involve working extensively with SQL, Excel, Tableau, and occasionally Python for data science projects. By Fall 2026, I’ll have three years of full-time experience under my belt.

## Program Fit
I’m considering top-notch programs like NYU, Columbia, Carnegie Mellon University, University of Michigan, University of Washington, Northwestern, University of Illinois Urbana–Champaign, and USC. But I’m not just looking for a program – I want to find the best fit for my skills, interests, and goals.

## Scholarship Opportunities
Of course, scholarships are a significant factor in my decision-making process. I’m eager to explore opportunities that can help me fund my education and achieve my dreams.

## Your Thoughts?
If you’re a data science enthusiast or have experience with the application process, I’d love to hear your thoughts on my profile, program fit, and chances for scholarships. Let’s discuss!
