I recently extended a paper that evaluated two models on certain characteristics of Large Language Models (LLMs) by using a different open model they didn’t test, and I also fine-tuned it (which they didn’t do). I got some interesting results that add to current knowledge meaningfully. Now, I’m wondering if this kind of extension would be publishable as a short paper or preprint.
I’d love to hear from others who have experience in this area. Would it be worth submitting to a journal or conference, or should I consider other routes like arXiv or ResearchGate? Any suggestions on how to frame or evaluate my research more rigorously would be greatly appreciated.
