I’ve always been fascinated by the world of data science, and I recently took the plunge by enrolling in an online data science course with CodewithHarry. As I dive deeper into the course, I couldn’t help but wonder – how much credibility will I gain in the job market after completing this course? In today’s job market, skills seem to be the most important factor. So, with the right set of skills and projects in data science, can I land a job in India, preferably a remote one? I’m currently pursuing a diploma in mechanical engineering and might opt for a BS degree in data science from IIT Madras later on. But how will my credentials compare to someone with a BTech CSE degree? Will I even be considered for a job? As a backup plan, I’m also considering pursuing a BSc from IGNOU, but I’m unsure about its credibility. If not IGNOU, I could opt for a BSc from my local college, but that would mean I’d have to start now, before I’m too old to pursue a bachelor’s degree. Another option I’m considering is taking lateral entry exams for BTech in mechanical engineering, which would allow me to start directly from the 3rd semester. However, this would mean I wouldn’t have enough time to pursue the IIT Madras course simultaneously. I’m torn between these options and would love to hear your opinions on what I should do. Can an online data science course really boost my credibility in the job market?
