Burnout in Tech: When 60+ Hour Weeks Take a Toll

I’m an SDE at a Big Tech company, and I’m feeling burnt out. 60+ hour weeks with 15+ hours of meetings are taking a toll on my mental and physical health. I’m not alone, right? I’ve been passively job searching, but it’s tough to find a new role that’s still challenging and fulfilling. I’ve had 5 onsite interviews, 30 interviews total in the last 6 months, but no luck so far. The feedback is always the same – ‘no negative feedback, but the other candidate had more years of experience.’ It’s demoralizing, to say the least. Has anyone else been in a similar situation? I’m looking for a community, maybe a Discord group, to connect with others who are going through the same thing.

I want to find a new role that’s still at a Fortune 500 company or a promising AI startup. But it’s hard to balance the job search with the demands of my current role. I’m feeling stuck, and I need some guidance and support.

If you’ve been in a similar situation, I’d love to hear your story. How did you cope with burnout? How did you find a new role that was a better fit? Let’s connect and support each other through this tough time.
